INFORMATIONS IMPORTANTESThe Vatican Museums and St Peter’s Basilica have strict security measures in place. Due to the presence of metal detectors at entrances, it is forbidden to carry the following:

Weapons and blunt objects (knives, long umbrellas, etc.)
Glass bottles, aerosol sprays, alcohol
Bicycles, skates, segways
Luggage
Pets

Large bags and selfie-sticks are not permitted inside the Vatican. There is a free cloakroom service after the metal detectors in the Museums. Strollers are permitted.PLEASE NOTE:St Peter’s Basilica is NOT open on Wednesday mornings and may be closed without notice.
